Today was a very emotional day for us and for birth mom Deidra. We brought baby Grace home today from the hospital. We can't imagine the turmoil Deidra was feeling today as she entrusted the baby she bore into our family's care.
We spent several hours at the hospital with Deidra and her boyfriend before we brought Grace home. I have to say that we can't thank Deidra and Chris enough for the love and trust they've shown us.
Grace is doing great. She is very hungry and eats well. She has pretty much been sleeping all day too. Another thing she's good at is bowel movements. She's already soiled four diapers since noon today. That's a big change for us. With Rose we'd be lucky to get one BM per week.
Now we're settling in at home trying to remember all those things that you need to know how to do to keep a baby happy and healthy. We are so truly blessed and want to let everyone know that we will not be out much or have visitors for the first week or two. Our adoption workers suggest to try to stay as quiet and calm for the first weeks as possible. We really want some quiet time for Sarah to bond with the baby. Thanks for understanding, Soon we'll be able to share Grace with the world.
